7th Raid: [Video/Action for Azalea]

Flamethrower.

[The gear clicks on just as Illidan is saying that word, but it doesn't immediately show the results, on account of the fact that it seems to be pointed straight up at the ceiling. The camera bobbles back and forth for a bit, as though whoever's holding it doesn't have a very good grip, or can't tell which way it's supposed to be aiming.

Finally, after the sound of roaring fire dies down, it swings down to aim at Illidan from behind, and in front of him stands a preening, very proud looking Vulpix and the scorched form of its competition, a Heracross. Behind the hapless bug stands a stupified Bugsy.
]

Wow, that's one strong Vulpix you've got there. But don't think I'm finished yet! Here's my last and strongest Pokemon. Go, Scyther!

[Illidan stands unperturbed as the new Pokemon pops out, the Scyther glaring down at his unimpressed Vulpix.]

Kael. Will O' Wisp.

[Immediately, flickering dark flames appear around each of the Vulpix's tails and launch themselves at the angry Scyther, who skrees in indignation and pain, hobbling back under the assault.]

Don't give up yet, Scyther! Hit it with a Wing Attack!

[The angry bug does precisely that, knocking Vulpix head over heels with a strike from its outstretched wings, but the burn from the Will O' Wisp is clearly paining it, and it skrees again.]

Confuse Ray.

[Vulpix rights itself and its eyes flash, a wave of ghostly energy flickering from it to Scyther, whose eyes widen in turn, its expression looking astonished. Bugsy immediately starts to look worried.]

Um, Scyther, don't-

[He's too late though, as with a loud cry of "Scyther!" the confused bug Pokemon slams its claws into a nearby tree, where they become stuck. As it tries to pull itself loose, Illidan smirks.]

Finish it. Flamethrower.

[And as Vulpix opens its mouth to comply, both Bugsy and the Scyther seem to realize how screwed they are. Scyther manages to pull its blades loose, though it still looks confused, and Bugsy opens his mouth to give an order.

But Vulpix is already attacking, and before Bugsy can say a word, Scyther is engulfed in flames. The fire lasts only a few seconds, but when it's done, it's obvious the char-broiled overgrown mantis isn't going to be doing any more fighting anytime soon. It coughs out a plume of smoke, and promptly falls over. Bugsy stares blankly for a couple moments before coming to his senses.
]

Ah, well... it looks like you've beaten me. Congratulations!

[As he starts on the usual victory spiel, Illidan makes a cutting motion at the camera, which starts to wobble again. Before it shuts off, there's a glimpse of the face of the mon holding it which explains the shakycam from earlier.

Seriously, who lets a Garchomp do cameramon duties?

Fire types are pretty useful, huh? When I first challenged...[Her? Him? ...Oops! She forgot.] the leader, I didn't have one. I had to count on my water types.

When it comes down to it, sometimes it's better not to use a Pokémon with a type advantage, I think. When there's no type advantage, you get to see just how strong your Pokémon really is.

It's better to be prepared, that's what I think! There's no harm in trying, right? Either way, for the next gym you'll have to, unless you use any fighting types.

[ And Illidan is getting a brief, but energetic applause from one Saber. ]

Well! That one was a good sport over his loss. Congratulations on your victory, Illidan. Kael Thas performed beautifully upon the stage. Were you, however, entertained?

[ Because that seemed to be way too easy of a fight to give any sort of fun. At least for her. ]

Though I have not traversed through its wood before, Ilex Forest seems to be a dense and almost labyrinthine complex of tall trees and slippery Pokemon. Though considering Kael Thas' performance I doubt you will have much trouble getting through it.

Your next destination? I believe you mentioned you and I will have the pleasure of meeting personally within Goldenrod.

Not in the immediate future, no, as I still plan to set up a proper shop within Goldenrod. Then I shall see to my own Gym challenges being fulfilled. I have several who wish to compete with me, after all!
